SOFT YEASTED braided Nutella brioche for breakfast

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 oz ricotta
  • orange zest
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/4 tsp fresh yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Nutella®

Steps

  • Dissolve the yeast in the milk and pour it into the mixer.

  • Add the sugar, flour, citrus zest, and ricotta.

  • Start the machine and add the egg; the dough should be firm, not sticky.

  • If the dough is sticky, add a little flour until it comes off the bowl.

  • Remove the dough and place it in a bowl covered with plastic wrap to rise until doubled, about 4-5 hours.

  • After rising, take the dough, divide it into 3 equal parts, and roll them out into rectangles.

  • Spread with Nutella or your preferred filling, roll up to form cylinders and braid the three cylinders together to form a braid, and close into a bundt shape.

  • Place the bundt cake on a baking tray lined with parchment paper

  • Let it rise for 30 minutes.

  • After rising, preheat the oven to 350°F, sprinkle the cake with granulated sugar, bake, and cook for about 20-25 minutes.

  • Always do the toothpick test and be careful not to overbake.

  • You can prepare the dough tonight, let it rise for two hours, then shape it and put it in the fridge overnight.

  • The next day, remove it from the fridge, let it come to room temperature for an hour, and then bake it.
