Preparation of air fryer bread balls
The first step is to take our stale roll and cut it into fairly large pieces, being careful not to hurt yourself!
In a bowl, put the stale bread, add the milk, and let it soak for about five minutes, just enough time for the bread to soften. After five minutes, start kneading, compacting the bread and milk well to get a fairly soft mixture.
Add the egg, grated cheese, and season with salt and pepper. Knead vigorously and finally add the minced garlic clove and give it another stir.
You will get a soft dough to which you will add the breadcrumbs little by little until you get a soft and workable dough that is not sticky.
Now take a small portion of the dough, flatten it on the palm of your hand and put a few cubes of scamorza cheese in the center. Close it well, wrapping the cheese and making sure there are no holes. Roll it between the palms of your hands to create a ball, which you will then roll in the remaining breadcrumbs.
if you want to get ahead with the preparation, you can make the balls and once breaded, let them rest in the refrigerator covered with aluminum foil, otherwise place them in the basket of the air fryer and use a sprayer with a little oil.
Cook in the air fryer at a temperature of 356°F for about 10 air fryer bread balls. The times may slightly vary depending on the model of air fryer you use. Once cooked, we can bring them to the table, and they will be ready to be enjoyed in all their cheesy goodness!
An Extra Tip:
* For a bolder flavor, you can mix Parmesan and Pecorino cheese;
* If you have leftover cold cuts, you can finely chop them and add them to the dough, making the balls even tastier;
