Have you already tried the Bread Croutons in the Air Fryer? If not, it’s time to catch up, especially if you have stale bread! It’s a great way to avoid waste and give new life to leftover bread. Crunchy just right, perfect for snacking or accompanying a steaming soup, a salad, or a nice spread
The Bread Croutons I propose today are with oregano, but you can choose spices and herbs according to your family’s tastes: for example, sweet or spicy paprika, chives, thyme, rosemary, etc. Thanks to the Air Fryer, you get a crunchy golden result with very little oil: similar to light frying, but faster and more convenient. It is also a great mid-morning snack, try them with my Broccoli Soup with Crunchy Chickpeas.
So if you have leftover bread, you have no more excuses! Try them and let me know in the comments if you liked them!

Steps to prepare Bread Croutons in Air Fryer
Cut the bread into cubes of roughly the same size
Transfer them to a baking tray or bowl to season. Add the oil, salt, and pepper
Add the oregano; I used fresh oregano from Agrigento, very fragrant, but you can use dried oregano or any spices and herbs you prefer
Mix well with a wooden spoon or spatula to combine the ingredients
Transfer the croutons to the air fryer and cook at 392°F for 7 minutes, shaking the basket a couple of times for even cooking
Take them out and let them cool

Tips and Storage
Keep an eye on the cooking, as the thickness of the bread affects the time, so it might vary from the one indicated. Shake the basket a couple of times to achieve the most even cooking possible.
If you don’t have stale bread and have decided to try them, use regular packaged white bread, the result will be just as good.
Once cooled, the croutons can be stored in well-sealed food bags, although I personally prefer to use hermetically sealed glass containers to keep them crunchy for several days.
