Savory Pie with Phyllo Dough in the Air Fryer

The Savory Pie with Phyllo Dough in the Air Fryer is an amazing rustic dish, with a delicious filling of zucchini, potatoes, cheeses, and raw eggs that will cook in the cavities of the filling, all wrapped in a light and crispy shell. A perfect main dish for a family lunch or a picnic.

Phyllo dough, with its thin and flaky texture, pairs wonderfully with a variety of fillings, fresh vegetables, creamy cheeses, cold cuts, or flavorful meats—the possibilities are endless.

Steps

How to prepare the savory pie with phyllo dough in the air fryer

  • Trim the zucchini, wash and peel the potatoes, peel the onion. Using a large-holed grater, grate everything directly into the baking pan where you will cook the vegetables. Season with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, and mix

  • Place the baking pan in the air fryer and cook at 340°F for 10 minutes, stirring a couple of times during cooking

  • The vegetables should remain slightly crunchy

  • Add the pecorino and the cheese cut into cubes and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary

  • Now unroll the phyllo dough and take 4 sheets. Brush with oil the first sheet and overlay the second

  • Continue for all the sheets you will use

  • Place the phyllo dough inside the baking pan that you have previously slightly greased

  • Add the filling, leveling it well and creating 3 grooves with the back of the spoon. If you want, you can add an egg, in this case, the grooves you need to create will be 4

  • Crack the eggs and place them in the space created

  • Close the phyllo dough and brush the surface with oil

  • Sprinkle the surface with sesame seeds and transfer the pan into the air fryer to cook

  • Cook at 340°F for the first 10 minutes, raise to 355°F and continue for another 7

  • Here it is, ready to win you over: every bite will be a celebration of flavors and texture!

Variations

If you want, you can also cook the vegetables in a large pan and then proceed to cook the savory pie in the air fryer
