Steps
How to prepare fennel with béchamel
For the preparation of the béchamel, follow the steps of the recipe Lasagna Roses in Air Fryer. Once ready, add the grated Grana Padano cheese and always stir with the whisk
Cut off the green parts and the stalks, as well as the base of the core, remove the harder outer leaves, wash them, dry them and cut them into not too thick slices
Cover the bottom of the baking dish with the béchamel
Place the first layer of fennel and salt them
Distribute the béchamel and continue in sequence until the ingredients are finished.
Finish the last layer with the béchamel, grated cheese, and a sprinkle of pepper if you like
Place the dish in the air fryer and cook at 320°F for 20 minutes. I started at a low temperature to avoid the fennel cooking quickly on the surface while remaining raw in the middle and at the base. Increase to 355°F and continue for 8 minutes. If you like, you can also give a few minutes of grill

Oven Cooking of Fennel with Béchamel
Bake them in the static oven, preheated to 355°F for 20/25 minutes, raise to 390°F and continue until a golden and crispy crust forms on the surface
Tips for Storing Fennel with Béchamel
You can store the fennel in the fridge, directly in their tray covered with plastic wrap, for a couple of days and heat them for a few minutes always in the air fryer or in the oven
You can prepare the fennel in advance and cook them just before serving
