The recipe for the spoon apple cake is convenient to prepare because you don’t use a scale as the ingredients are measured with a spoon… fantastic, right?!
When you crave a dessert and have little time available, or an unexpected dinner invitation arises and you don’t have time to stop by the bakery, this is the ideal cake, the ingredients are all mixed together in a bowl, without any tools but just with the help of a spoon. The cooking of this recipe is in the air fryer and it can also be cooked in the traditional oven. For the mold, I used a 9×9-inch non-stick square pan, but if you want a slightly higher cake, you can replace it with an 8-inch round pan.
The spoon apple cake is perfect for any occasion, its soft and creamy texture makes it ideal as a dessert after meals, but it’s great for breakfast and for a healthy snack for the little ones.
The spoon apple cake is my favorite apple cake, I call it the all-apple cake… because it requires 4 or 5 apples (depending on the size of the apples) cut into thin slices and very little flour… but let’s prepare it together!!
- Cost: Very economical
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 6/8
- Cooking methods: Air Frying, Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 4 Golden apples (5 if small)
- 8 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons corn oil (or sunflower oil)
- 2 eggs
- 1 untreated lemon peel (grated)
- 1 packet baking powder
- to taste powdered sugar
Tools
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Spoon
- 1 Non-stick pan
- 1 Air fryer
Steps
In a bowl, pour the flour, sugar, eggs, oil, and grated lemon peel.
Remove the core from the apples, peel them, and slice them very thin. Add the sifted baking powder and mix well with the help of the spoon.
Pour the batter into a greased and floured pan and level the mixture well.
Bake at 320°F for 30 minutes. Always do the toothpick test.
Allow the apple cake to cool before removing it from the mold.
Transfer the spoon apple cake and dust with powdered sugar.
I recommend starting by preparing all the ingredients in the bowl except the apples, to prevent them from turning dark during preparation, and the baking powder.
You can bake the apple cake in the oven at 340°F for 20-30 minutes. Always do the toothpick test.
