Piadaburger in Air Fryer

The Piadaburger in Air Fryer is a very easy and quick recipe, perfect for a tasty lunch or dinner ready in a few minutes, without dirtying pans. It is prepared using only two main ingredients, to which you can add your favorite toppings to make it even more delicious and personalized.
The cooking in the air fryer makes it crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but if you don’t have it, no problem: at the bottom of the recipe you will also find alternatives for cooking it in the oven or in a pan. A simple but truly irresistible idea!

Piadaburger in Air Fryer
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 1 Piece
  • Cooking methods: Air Frying
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

  • 4.6 oz mixed ground meat (pork and beef)
  • 1 piadina
  • 2 leaves lettuce
  • 1.8 oz provola cheese
  • to taste light mayonnaise

Tools

  • Air Fryer

Steps

  • To prepare the piadaburger, start by taking a piadina (not too big, so it fits comfortably in the air fryer) and spread the ground meat directly on the surface using your hands. Try to achieve an even layer, leaving a small border along the sides. Once prepared, cook in the air fryer at 338°F for about 6-7 minutes, until the meat is well cooked. Alternatively, you can cook it in a static oven at 374°F for about 12-15 minutes. If you prefer to use a pan, just place the piadina with the meat side down, over medium-low flame, and cook for 7 minutes, covering with a lid to aid cooking and keep the piadina soft.

  • When ready, it’s time to fill it. Ideally, divide the surface of the piadina into four sections. In each, you can distribute the ingredients you prefer: I use slices of provola, lettuce leaves, mayonnaise, or any other topping you like. Then, with kitchen scissors, make a cut to the center of the piadina. Start folding it over itself following the folds of the topping, until you get a compact and triangular shape, similar to a fan.

  • At this point, you can decide whether to enjoy it as it is or put it back in the air fryer for a couple of minutes, just enough time to melt the cheese well. Alternatively, you can also reheat it in the oven or pan for the same gooey and delicious effect. Enjoy your meal!
