Baked or Air Fryer Bananas
  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Cost: Very Cheap
  • Preparation time: 5 Minutes
  • Cooking methods: Air Frying, Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All Seasons

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • to taste honey
  • to taste peanut butter
  • to taste cinnamon
  • to taste sliced almonds
  • to taste chocolate chips

Tools

  • Air Fryer

Steps

  • To prepare this recipe, start by choosing a ripe but still firm banana so it holds up well during cooking. Without removing the peel, cut it in half lengthwise: the peel will serve as a natural “container” during cooking.
Place the two halves directly in the air fryer basket, with the flesh facing up. Top with a drizzle of honey, a sprinkle of cinnamon, sliced almonds, a teaspoon of peanut butter, and finally a few chocolate chips. The ingredients can be adjusted to taste, according to your preferences or nutritional needs.

  • Cook in the air fryer at 356°F for about 10 minutes. Preheating is not necessary: the banana will become soft, slightly caramelized on the surface, and the chocolate chips will melt creating a delicious cream.
    Oven Baking
If you prefer, you can also bake the banana in a static oven. Place the two halves in a small suitable baking dish or tray. In this case, it will be necessary to preheat the oven and bake at 374°F for about 18 minutes.
Once ready, serve the bananas hot, for a cozy breakfast or snack with a creamy texture. Enjoy your meal!

Tips for You

• Variations: you can customize the recipe with what you have in your pantry. Instead of peanut butter, try hazelnut cream, tahini, or almond butter.
• More Crunch: add a handful of granola or chopped nuts after cooking for a contrast of textures.
For the Indulgent: serve it with a scoop of Greek yogurt or vanilla ice cream for a quick and surprising dessert.
• Without Added Sugars: omit the honey if you prefer a more natural result — the banana will still caramelize during cooking.
Ripe Banana? It’s fine, but be mindful of the time: a very ripe banana will cook faster and become even creamier.
