Ingredients

  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 150 g Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp sugar (or erythritol)
  • 1 tsp instant baking powder
  • 1 egg yolk
  • as needed milk
  • as needed hazelnut cream
  • as needed powdered sugar

Steps

  • To prepare the Nutella-filled bomboloni, follow these simple steps:
    Start by mixing all-purpose flour, Greek yogurt, sugar (or erythritol for a lighter version), and instant baking powder in a bowl. Knead for a few minutes until you get a soft and homogeneous dough.

  • Divide the dough into 4 parts and, using a rolling pin, roll each portion into a disc.
    In the center of each disc, add a tablespoon of hazelnut cream (preferably pre-frozen). Close the discs to form small buns and seal the edges well.

  • Brush the surface of each bombolone with a mix of egg yolk and a dash of milk.

    Cook the bomboloni in the air fryer at 340°F for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden, turning them halfway through cooking. Alternatively, bake in a hot oven at 356°F for 25-30 minutes.
    Add some powdered sugar on the bomboloni and serve warm. Enjoy!
