Perfect as an appetizer or a snack to enjoy, they are a great alternative to the usual fried dishes. The contrast between the crunchy exterior and the soft, melting interior of the feta is truly unique.
You can cook them in an air fryer for a super crunchy and light result, or bake them in the oven, slightly increasing the temperature and cooking times. - 1 feta (180 g (6.35 oz))
- 2 eggs
- as needed unsweetened cornflakes
- as needed flour
- as needed honey
- as needed salt
- as needed extra virgin olive oil

Steps
Pat dry the feta with paper towels to remove excess moisture and cut it into cubes: make 3 cuts in one direction and 2 in the other to obtain 12 cubes. Meanwhile, prepare three plates: one with flour, one with beaten eggs and a pinch of salt, and another with cornflakes crumbled by hand. Dip each feta cube first in flour, then in eggs, and finally in cornflakes, ensuring they are well coated on all sides.
Spray the cubes with a little oil and cook in an air fryer at 392°F for 10-12 minutes, turning them halfway through to achieve even crispiness. Alternatively, if you prefer to bake them, preheat the oven to 410°F and bake the bites for 20-25 minutes, always with a little oil sprayed on top. If you desire a more traditional result, you can also fry them in plenty of seed oil until golden brown.
Once cooked, serve the feta bites hot, adding a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of coarse salt for a sweet and salty contrast that will make them even more irresistible! Enjoy your meal.
Tips for you
✔ I recommend cooking the feta bites directly in the air fryer basket without using parchment paper or trays: this way they will cook evenly thanks to the air that passes from top to bottom through the basket holes.
✔ I suggest using the BBQ mesh to insert directly in the non-stick basket of your air fryer: the mesh protects the non-stick coating of the basket (which will remain as new) and allows food to cook evenly, letting air pass 360 degrees. You can find it on Amazon by clicking here.
