- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 18 oz ziti (long to be broken)
- 2 cups béchamel
- 17 oz mozzarella (or fiordilatte)
- 10 oz cooked ham
- 3.5 oz grated Parmesan
Tools
- 1 Pot
- 1 Colander
- 1 Knife
- 1 Cutting Board
- 1 Baking Pan
Steps
Preparing baked ziti with ham and mozzarella is very simple and fairly quick, considering we’re talking about baked pasta.
First, break the long ziti by hand and dice both the cooked ham and the mozzarella. Let the mozzarella drain in a colander to remove any excess milk.
Cook the ziti in plenty of salted water and leave them al dente, cooking for 2 minutes less than the package instructions. Once cooked, drain the pasta well and place it in a large bowl.
Add the ham, mozzarella, béchamel, and grated cheese to the pasta. Mix thoroughly to evenly distribute the seasoning.
Storage
Baked ziti with ham and mozzarella keeps for a couple of days in the fridge in an airtight container.
When reheating, I recommend doing it in a pan with a small knob of butter.
