Raise your hand if you’re having breakfast with me this morning! Let’s prepare the sweet breakfast with brioche bread, yogurt, and candied ginger, a magical moment, to be enjoyed slowly to start the day off right!
Since I was little, I have the habit of waking up early to have breakfast calmly, prepare the cappuccino and then the coffee, go through all the sweet things in the cupboard and then sit at the table to enjoy breakfast. Just a few minutes, about ten, but they give me energy to use during the day, whether it’s a day to spend in the kitchen for new recipes or at work. Those moments are precious to bring momentum and positivity to a character like mine that needs fuel to get going.
This morning I’ll explain how to prepare the sweet breakfast with homemade brioche bread, super soft and perfect for this preparation. You can find the recipe here on my blog for years: brioche bread with chocolate chips
For the preparation of the brioche bread for breakfast you can avoid adding chocolate chips to the dough, leaving it neutral as a base and especially so you can use it to enjoy this dessert with a thousand other delicious variations.
Get some plain yogurt, some Fabbri 1905 candied ginger which you can purchase on Amazon store (click here), and some crunchy granola and let’s start the preparation of the sweet breakfast! Of course, let me know in the comments if you liked this recipe, you’ll find the reel also on my Instagram profile to leave a like or comment!
Here below I leave you other recipes you can prepare with candied ginger, there is also another breakfast recipe with waffles and seasonal fruit. First thing to note as a recipe preview: the brioche bread should be prepared the day before, so it should be ready to execute this recipe. However, I can tell you that there are also packaged brioche breads in the supermarket, in the hypermarket where I work, for example, we sell a type that is already sliced and not even too thin, honestly, so you could substitute homemade brioche bread with this ready-made one. Of course, it won’t have the same taste, flavor, and texture as homemade brioche bread with yogurt which remains super soft and fragrant, but it’s a variant to prepare a quick breakfast like this one I propose to you this morning.
Recipe Steps for Sweet Breakfast with Brioche Bread, Yogurt, and Candied Ginger
Let’s start the preparation of the sweet breakfast by cutting slices of brioche bread of about half an inch, don’t make them too thin otherwise you won’t be able to make them rigid with the pan toasting. Plus, with the weight of plain yogurt, candied ginger, and granola, you won’t be able to hold them in your hand as I did in the video you find below the first photo. This time I didn’t prepare the video recipe for you but made a short reel to bring you into my kitchen to have breakfast together with this soft and delicious brioche bread for breakfast.
Take a non-stick frying pan and grease the bottom with a pat of butter, place it on the stovetop, and turn on the flame. Once the pan is heated, place two slices of brioche bread at a time to monitor the cooking and not let them darken externally. Then place the slices of toasted brioche bread on a small plate and proceed with the other two slices. As indicated in the description, this recipe for sweet breakfast is intended for two people, so we will use four slices of brioche bread, where there are more family members, we will multiply the bread slices.
After toasting the brioche bread, spread a tablespoon of whole plain yogurt on the slices. Take some candied ginger cubes and place them here and there on the hot slices, of course, don’t forget the preserve syrup to drizzle over the bread and yogurt. Sprinkle with a good dose of crunchy granola and serve the breakfast.
If I may suggest, I would pair this breakfast with a warm cappuccino and a glass of orange juice or a fruit juice not too sweet to not alter the taste and tartness of the candied ginger. At this point, I just have to wish you a good appetite and remind you that I’m waiting for you every morning in the group for the Recipe of the Day!
You can leave a comment and a review of the recipe below, I thank you already for the time you spent reading the recipe!
Tips and Variations:
Tips: do not toast the brioche bread slices too much in the pan with butter, they would become too dark and the burnt smell is not pleasant in the mouth. Do not slice the brioche bread too thinly, besides inevitably breaking, they would not become rigid enough to hold the weight of the ingredients we will add later. Prepare this sweet breakfast at the moment so that the bread slices are warm and delicious.
If you don’t have brioche bread but you have the urge to enjoy this sweet breakfast, you can replace the brioche bread with slices of day-old bread, you will still toast it in the pan with a pat of butter and then proceed with the preparation in the same way you read above.
If you don’t have whole plain yogurt but you have strained Greek, fruit yogurt, or maybe kefir in the fridge, you can use it for this recipe.
