It originated from a mistake in the kitchen and has now become a revisited and much loved recipe by everyone. In this case, we’ll see how to make a Tarte Tatin with a simple flavor: with cherry tomatoes. It will be refined, elegant, but at the same time incredibly delicious and full of flavor. Cooking the Tarte Tatin in the air fryer is even faster, but if you wish, you can cook it in the oven by increasing the temperature and time, which are noted below in the recipe. Ingredients

  • 1 round puff pastry (or shortcrust pastry)
  • 1 egg
  • as needed cherry tomatoes
  • as needed oregano
  • as needed salt
  • as needed sugar
  • as needed extra virgin olive oil

Steps

  • We take a round baking pan, I used this 8-inch one: PAN. If you want, you can line it with parchment paper: it will make it easier when you take the tart out. Pour a little olive oil and brush it well. Add a pinch of salt, dried oregano, and sugar. At this point, add the cherry tomatoes cut in half over the entire surface of the pan.

  • Take a roll of puff pastry and, if too large, cut some inches. The circle should still be slightly larger than the chosen pan, because we are going to tuck it in. Place the pastry over the pan and lay it on the tomatoes. Tuck the edges, leaving them fairly rustic and folding them roughly. Finally, brush an egg over the surface of the dough.

  • Cook the tarte tatin in the air fryer at 338°F for 20-25 minutes or in a hot oven at 356°F for 35-40 minutes. Wait at least 20 minutes (better half an hour) and flip the savory tart onto a plate. If you use parchment paper, it will still be easier because you just need to pull it out and flip it. Serve in slices or squares. Enjoy your meal!
