Steps Hugo Spritz recipe with elderflower

  • Let’s start by cutting the lemon. Place the lemon after washing and patting it dry on a cutting board and with a knife, cut the lemon slices, one for each drink.

Wash and pat dry the mint, a few leaves in each beverage.

Arrange all the necessary ingredients on the work surface: the bottle of prosecco, the sparkling water or soda if you prefer, the elderflower syrup and finally the ice to ensure it doesn’t melt too much before starting the preparation of our aperitif.

  • We are finally ready to proceed. Pour 1.5 oz of elderflower into a cocktail glass, swirl the liquid on the bottom and sides so that the syrup can moisten the inside of the glass.

Add four to five ice cubes per glass, pour 5 oz of prosecco into each drink, then add the lemon slice. Finish each Hugo Spritz with sparkling water and finally the fresh mint leaves. Give a light stir with a teaspoon from bottom to top.

    Christmas trees with sandwich bread
  • The drink is ready to be served to our guests or our family. I had invited my friend Gaia for lunch and we enjoyed the Hugo Spritz with elderflower along with Christmas Trees filled with tuna sauce!

Tips and variations:

Main tip: measure the quantities well, you risk having taste and flavor imbalances if the quantities differ from those indicated above.

Main variations: as already indicated in the list of necessary ingredients for this recipe you can replace the sparkling water with soda. You can also use lime instead of lemon. I tried both, the taste and thus the choice is up to you on which of the two citrus fruits to use as the final ingredient for this cocktail.
