Cremy Leftover Pasta in Air Fryer

This creamy pasta is made with leftover pasta of any taste and seasoning. It’s super easy to make and takes only 5 minutes. You only need 4 ingredients: leftover pasta, bechamel sauce (if you don’t have it ready, here is the recipe to make it easily and quickly without butter: read here), provola cheese or other cheese of your choice, and grated parmesan.

The creamy leftover pasta is perfect for a last-minute lunch or dinner, especially when we’re in a hurry and have some pasta waiting in the fridge. A recipe that’s easy-peasy! The steps are so simple that once you’ve tried it, you’ll always make it this way. Any seasoning will do: mine was with zucchini and cream, but classic with tomato sauce, plain, with mushrooms, ragù… any flavor will be perfect!

You can cook the creamy leftover pasta in an air fryer for much faster cooking, or in a hot oven by increasing the degrees and cooking time. Below are all the cooking directions! I used a 8×8 inch pan, suitable for air fryers that are at least 8.5-8.7 inches per side; you can find it CLICKING HERE.

  • At this point (IMPORTANT) place a sheet of parchment paper on top and seal well with aluminum foil. This way it will cook well inside without burning on top. Cook in an air fryer at 355°F for 20 minutes, removing the cover for the last 5 minutes to brown the surface. Or, you can cook it in a hot oven at 375°F for 30-35 minutes.

Tips for you

✔ To cook the creamy leftover pasta, I used a non-stick pan measuring 8×8 inches. If you don’t have it, you can find it on Amazon by clicking here.

✔ Remember: use parchment paper and aluminum foil for cooking: this will allow the pasta to cook well inside. Remove it only when there are 4 minutes left, so it won’t get burnt and will remain creamy for adding the pistachio crumble on top.

✔ The lasagna with mushrooms and brie can be kept in the fridge for up to 2 days. If you don’t have time to cook it, you can make and freeze it to cook it later. In this case, I recommend taking it out of the freezer at least 2 hours before, and then you can proceed with cooking as indicated above, adding a few extra minutes.

✔ For this recipe, I used the air fryer COSORI 4.7, which you can find on Amazon here.

FAQ (Questions and Answers)

  • Why do you also use parchment paper?

Parchment paper is placed with the aluminum foil to prevent the lasagna from being in direct contact with the foil. In fact, even without parchment paper, nothing happens if the lasagna is directly covered by the foil, but this way, let’s say “everyone is safer”.

  • Is aluminum foil harmful??

Rather than a question, it’s often presented to me as an “assertion.” Anyway, the answer is no: it’s not harmful. In fact, the aluminum foil sold in supermarkets is for food use and can create problems ONLY at extreme temperatures. Remember that foil is basically used even in ovens, which can reach very high temperatures like 500°F, unlike an air fryer that at most can reach 400°F (and in some fryers 450°F, a rarity), and even with the oven’s maximum temperature, you don’t get any problems. So rest assured! In any case, as you have seen, I inserted parchment paper between the lasagna and the foil so everyone can be more relaxed.
