Sausage and Potatoes in Air Fryer

A delicious main dish is sausage and potatoes: let’s see how to make them easily and quickly in an air fryer. The result will be amazing: crispy on the outside and super soft and juicy on the inside. A real treat. You can also cook sausages with potatoes directly in the oven, in this case, you will necessarily need to increase the degrees and cooking times; you will find all the instructions below.

Sausage with potatoes is a complete, tasty, and very easy dish to make. In fact, it will only take 5 minutes to prepare this dish, and if you cook them in an air fryer, they will be ready in less than half an hour! The process is super fast, just the time it takes to cut the potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 14 oz sausage
  • 14 oz new potatoes (or with organic skin)
  • 1 drizzle extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste rosemary
  • to taste salt

Tools

  • Air Fryer

Steps

  • First, cut the potatoes into wedges. I used those with the skin (new or organic), but they are also fine without. In a bowl, season the potatoes with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, a pinch of salt, and a few sprigs of rosemary, then mix well. Separately, cut the sausage into pieces.

Transfer everything directly into the air fryer basket and cook at 375°F for 25 minutes, turning them twice during cooking. Alternatively, you can cook the sausage with potatoes in a preheated oven at 375°F for about 40-45 minutes.

Tips for you

✔ Please do not use parchment paper: it is indeed necessary for the air to circulate from top to bottom for even cooking, plus the sausage fat needs to drip down through the holes. I know it will get dirty, that’s normal, but as with any other cooking method (pans, pots, baking trays), it will need to be cleaned afterward. But trust me: the result will be amazing.

✔ You don’t need to parboil the potatoes beforehand, but if you want to, you can feel free to do so. And yes, potatoes and sausages cook together, but you can also add the sausage after 5/10 minutes of cooking, depending on the thickness.

✔ You can use potatoes with the skin (new or organic) or remove it, no problem.

✔ I recommend using a BBQ mesh to place directly in the non-stick basket of your air fryer: the mesh protects the non-stick coating of the basket (which will stay like new) and allows the food to cook evenly, letting the air pass through at 360 degrees. You can find it on Amazon by clicking here.

✔ Alternatively, you can use perforated parchment, which allows the air to pass through from bottom to top. You can find it on Amazon by clicking here: link.

✔ For this recipe, I used the COSORI 4.7 air fryer, which you can find on Amazon here.
