Ingredients for a 9-inch Peach Yogurt Pound Cake
- 1 jar Fruit Yogurt (peach flavor)
- 3 Eggs (at room temperature)
- 1.4 oz Potato Starch
- 1.6 cups All-purpose Flour
- 0.6 cups Sugar
- 3 tbsp Vegetable Oil (or 2.5 oz softened butter at room temperature)
- 1 packet Baking Powder
To make this dessert, you can also use only two eggs, but they need to be large.
Tools
- 1 Oven
- 1 Mixer
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Spoon
- 1 Pound Cake Mold
- 1 Spatula
Preparation of the Peach Yogurt Pound Cake
The first thing to do, for the successful outcome of this recipe, is to preheat the oven to 355 degrees in static mode. Now take a high-sided bowl and start beating with whisks or an electric mixer all the eggs with the sugar until you get a smooth and frothy cream. Work for several minutes.
Now we add the amount of oil, or butter if you prefer, continuing to work with the mixer. Then add the peach yogurt and mix well. Proceed with the flour after sifting it: the flour, the potato starch, and the packet of baking powder.
Now take the pound cake mold and butter or oil it well. You can oil it with kitchen paper to avoid too much oil residue. Make sure to cover all the edges. Dust with a little flour if you want to be sure the batter doesn’t stick to the sides during baking, especially if the pound cake mold is old and porous. Pour the peach yogurt pound cake batter inside, sprinkle with brown sugar, optional, and bake for 30 minutes. Always do the toothpick test before removing the dessert from the oven.
Let the peach yogurt pound cake cool before removing it from the mold and serving it. You can serve the peach pound cake with a small bowl of peach jam that you can spread on the slice if, for example, you are having breakfast. Or, my favorite version, with a scoop of ice cream flavored peach or vanilla if serving the pound cake as a dessert.
I just have to wish you bon appétit and remind you that I look forward to seeing you here on my blog every day with many easy, quick, and delicious recipes like this one!
Tips and variations:
Of course, in my recipe I use peach yogurt because I like it a lot. If it’s not to your liking, you can choose other varieties of fruit yogurt while keeping the same doses and ingredients. You will see that this pound cake will be delicious. You can also replace the vegetable oil with butter, as indicated earlier. You can substitute white sugar with brown sugar if you prefer.
If you liked this recipe and want to try another dessert ideal for breakfast, I leave you the recipe for the milk bundt cake, loved by both kids and adults and very popular because it is very simple to prepare and with few and inexpensive ingredients.
