Ingredients for 4 Fig Pastries:
- 1 sheet Puff Pastry (rectangular)
- 5 Figs (medium to large)
- 7 oz Speck
- 6 Walnuts
Tools to prepare this recipe:
- Oven
- 1 Cutting Board
- 1 Knife
- 1 Parchment Paper
- 1 Plate
- 1 Baking Tray
Preparation of Pastries with Fresh Figs:
First, turn on the oven, as I mentioned, it’s a quick and simple recipe, few ingredients but the oven needs to be nice and hot.
I know it’s summer, but we can always make a sacrifice for a dish that will repay us! Set the oven to static mode at 356°F.
When the oven has reached the temperature, take the rectangular puff pastry sheet from the refrigerator. Unroll the pastry and place it with the parchment paper on a work surface. With the help of a sharp knife, cut six not-too-large rectangles.
Cut the figs in half after removing their outer part. I used black figs, but if you have them, green figs are also good.
Prick the puff pastry with a fork, and place the fig halves on the rectangles by making a slight pressure with your fingers. Then place a few pieces of walnut on top.
Now, with your hands, fold the edges of the puff pastry inwards and with the help of the fork, secure them well by applying light pressure, be careful not to break the pastry.
Once all six rectangles are filled, bake for about 15-20 minutes.
The pastry with fresh figs should become golden and crispy but never overcooked. Once ready, portion onto plates and let them cool slightly before gently placing one or two nice slices of speck on each.
Serve this tasty snack, appetizer, or even aperitif to your guests immediately, I find it a very versatile dish. All that remains is to remind you that I look forward to the next recipe and wish you bon appétit!!!
