Bea’s Recipes presents one of the most scenic desserts, Apple and Jam Roses! I got this delicious dessert recipe from Riccardo and Chiara, a couple of our friends who make them often. They may look difficult to make, but as Chiara says, “if I managed to do it, everyone can make Apple and Jam Roses!” Few and simple ingredients for a dessert that will amaze you.
In the blog you can also find the recipe for the Apple Ring Cake or the Apple Muffins.

Preparation of Apple Roses
The recipe is very simple with few steps to follow, so let’s turn on the oven in static mode at 356°F. After that, let’s move on to the second task, wash the apples thoroughly, dry them with a kitchen towel, and cut them in half. Remove the core, trying to take away as little flesh as possible. Place them on a cutting board with their flat side down and cut into thin slices. In a small bowl, pour some water, add the apple slices and the well-squeezed lemon juice. After a few minutes, drain the apple slices and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with granulated sugar and bake them for about ten minutes; they should soften slightly. Don’t turn off the oven; in a few minutes, we’ll need it hot again at 356°F.
Now let’s prepare the base of our roses with the puff pastry. Unroll it on the work surface and cut it into strips about 2 – 2.5 inches wide. Brush the puff pastry strips with the jam of your choice and place the apple slices leaving about 0.5 – 1 inch from the base, slightly overlapping them. If you like cinnamon, you can lightly sprinkle it now, otherwise, if like me you can’t stand it, skip ahead.
Fold the puff pastry you left underneath the apple slices to form a pocket to hold them in place. Roll everything from one side to the other to form the apple roses. Be careful not to make them too tight; the puff pastry will puff up during baking, and they might open. Arrange all our apple roses on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, sprinkle with some sugar, and bake for about 20 – 25 minutes. They should be golden and crispy. You can serve them warm or completely cold; the important thing is to sprinkle them generously with powdered sugar.
Enjoy your meal!!!
