Mortadella in a pan is a very simple main course to prepare, which you can also serve as an appetizer or to accompany a drink. Cut into pieces, it is perfect for a buffet. You can use a small mortadella and cut the slices you need, or buy a large slice from the deli counter at the supermarket and then cut it into wedges. You can serve mortadella in a pan with a simple salad or grilled vegetables. It’s also great with caramelized onions. I also recommend trying Mortadella alla pizzaiola, also cooked in a pan, and don’t forget to check out other recipes with mortadella. How to make Mortadella in a pan
Let’s start preparing the mortadella in a pan. If you are using small mortadella, cut slices about 1/4 inch thick. If you had a slice cut from the large mortadella at the supermarket deli counter, you will cut it into wedges after cooking.
Heat the pan, and when it’s hot, place the slices of mortadella in it and cook them for 2/3 minutes per side.
When the mortadella is ready, serve it with some salad or grilled vegetables, and if you like, drizzle with some balsamic glaze.
