Pan-fried stuffed squid in white sauce is a simple and flavorful fish main course. The stuffed squid with zucchini are really tasty, and you can prepare them in advance and then reheat them when ready to serve. The cooking time of the squid varies with size, the larger they are, the more filling they have, and the longer they need to be cooked; if they are small, they will take less time. Instead of squid, you can also use cuttlefish. I recommend checking out other RECIPES WITH SQUID and cuttlefish. I’m sure you’ll find other recipes to try. How to prepare pan-fried stuffed squid in white sauce
Let’s start preparing pan-fried stuffed squid in white sauce, clean the squid of guts, remove the central cartilage, just pull it out to remove it, also remove the eyes and the beak, then wash them under running water. Detach the tentacles from the body and side fins and cut them into pieces.
Wash a zucchini, trim it, and grate it with a large-hole grater, then squeeze it to remove the naturally contained water.
Place the grated zucchini, chopped tentacles and fins, a drizzle of oil, chopped parsley, salt, and breadcrumbs in a plate, and mix well.
Take the squid bodies and fill them with the prepared stuffing, press with your fingers to ensure the squid is well filled, then close with a toothpick to prevent the stuffing from leaking during cooking.
Heat a pan and place the stuffed squid, brown them on all sides, turning them often, then deglaze with white wine and let the wine evaporate, then lower the heat and cook the squid for another 15 minutes, always turning them for even cooking; the cooking time also varies with the size of the squid.
When the squid are ready, remove the toothpick and serve them hot.
