What You Need to Dry Lemon Peels

  • 1 Air Fryer

How to Prepare Dried Lemon Peels in Air Fryer

  • Choose untreated organic lemons, if you have lemons from your tree, or from someone you know, use those.

Wash the lemons under running water, removing any impurities from the peel.

With a vegetable peeler or a paring knife, remove the peel from the lemons, avoiding the white part which is bitter.

Place the lemon peels inside the air fryer basket and start with the drying function or at 140°F and cook for 6 hours.

Be sure to shake the air fryer basket approximately every 2 hours, so as to redistribute the lemon peels inside, so they dry perfectly.

At the end of cooking, place the still hot peels, well spread out, on a tray so they can cool completely.

When the dried lemon peels in the air fryer have completely cooled, transfer them into a mixer and blend them to obtain a very fine powder.

Distribute the dried peels into the jars, which you should leave open for a few days so that any remaining moisture can evaporate completely.

Close the jars and store the chopped peels in the pantry.

  • You can use the same procedure for other citrus fruits such as oranges, limes, grapefruits. If you want, you can mix the peels to get an aromatic mix for your dishes.

Use the dried peels to flavor desserts, first courses, or even main courses!
