How to prepare cauliflower in a pressure cooker

  • Let’s start preparing the cauliflower in the pressure cooker, first clean it, remove any bad outer leaves, the stem if there is one, and wash it well under running water.

  • If you want, you can cook it whole or you can cut it to get the florets and thus reduce the cooking time. With a knife, cut all the florets, you just need to pass the blade on each base of the floret, nothing complicated.

  • Pour the water into the pressure cooker and arrange the steaming basket, add the whole cauliflower or the cauliflower florets. Close the lid and adjust the valve, put the pot on high heat and as soon as the pot starts to “whistle” lower the heat and set the timer to 5 minutes if the cauliflower is cut into pieces, if you keep it whole, 10 minutes of cooking is enough.

  • After the cooking time, turn off the heat, let the steam vent, and when the safety valve has lowered, you can open the lid. Check the cooking of the cauliflower and if it’s not yet cooked to your liking, let it cook for another 1-2 minutes, always with the same procedure.

  • When the cauliflower is ready, remove it from the pressure cooker and season it as you prefer.
