Sausage with beer is an easy-to-make main dish perfect for any occasion, even for a fun evening with friends. You can accompany the beer sausages with French fries, grilled vegetables, or simply polenta. These beer sausages can also be prepared in advance and reheated when ready to serve. I used local sausage, but you can also use spicy sausage or sausage with wild fennel, or you can also prepare beer luganega, so you can mix it up based on the sausage you have available. To avoid a bitter dish, I recommend using a sweet and good quality beer, otherwise, you risk ruining the dish. To determine if a beer is bitter, you can check the bitterness index, the IBU, which is usually indicated on the bottle label or in the beer description. I recommend using beers with an IBU below 20. For optimal cooking, I preferred to make small sausage balls, but you can also cut them in half or into pieces. I suggest checking out all my BEER RECIPES as I’m sure you’ll find some other main dish to try. Now let’s see how to make sausage with beer and if you try it, let me know. Barbara

How to prepare sausage with beer
We start preparing the Sausage with beer, pour a drop of extra virgin olive oil into a pan,
add the rosemary, sage, and garlic clove, and let them flavor for a few minutes.
Remove the casing from the sausages, take a small piece of sausage, and form small balls by rolling the sausage between your hands,
as you prepare them, place them in the hot pan,
let them brown well, turning them often.
When the sausage balls are golden, deglaze with the beer
let the alcohol evaporate completely and turn the sausage often.
