TUNA AND ARUGULA SANDWICH ROLLS

Tuna sandwich rolls are a delicious no-cook appetizer, perfect for accompanying an aperitif or at a buffet. These rolls made with sandwich bread are great for any occasion, even the most special ones, and you can prepare them in advance. However, I recommend keeping them covered and cutting the rolls into slices only at the last moment so they stay soft. I also recommend the SANDWICH ROLLS WITH RUSSIAN SALAD. Now let’s see how to make these tuna sandwich rolls, and if you try them, let me know. Barbara

  • 2 tbsps mayonnaise
  • as needed sesame seeds

How to prepare tuna sandwich rolls

  • we start by preparing the tuna sandwich rolls, make the tuna sauce by simply putting the capers into the blender cup,

  • the tuna from which you’ve removed the excess oil,

  • and the mayonnaise, blend intermittently until you get a smooth sauce.

  • Roll out the slices of bread with a rolling pin, so they won’t break when you roll them.

  • Spread a few tablespoons of tuna sauce

  • and add some arugula, avoiding placing it on one side, so the sauce prevents the roll from opening.

  • Now roll the slice of bread starting from the side where the arugula is,

  • close the tuna roll with a sheet of aluminum foil or plastic wrap. Let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

  • Then take the tuna rolls and add some cream cheese on one side.

  • Roll the side with cream cheese in sesame seeds

  • Cut each roll into 4 parts.

  • Serve the tuna sandwich rolls immediately, or place them in the refrigerator on a plate covered with plastic wrap or in a container with a lid.

How to store tuna sandwich rolls

Store them in the refrigerator for 2 days, well sealed in a container; otherwise, the bread and cream will dry out.
