HOMEMADE NACHOS

Homemade nachos perfect for accompanying a drink with friends or for snacking at any time of the day, in front of the TV, or to serve as an appetizer during a dinner with friends. You can serve your Oven Nachos with the traditional spicy Mexican sauce, with nacho cheese sauce, with GUACAMOLE or with a delicious Hummus sauce. Makes nachos with just a few ingredients, it’s not difficult at all, the thing I recommend is to roll out the dough very thinly, otherwise they will be hard and not crumbly as they should be. With this dose, you will make a bowl like in the photo; if you need more, I recommend making the dough each time, and not doubling the dough; otherwise, when you roll out the dough, it will be too thick and hard after cooking. Now let’s see how to make homemade nachos, and if you try them, let me know. Barbara

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • to taste salt

How to make Homemade Nachos

  • Let’s start making homemade nachos, pour all the ingredients into a bowl and mix everything first with a fork and then with your hands; if you prefer, you can use a stand mixer or a blender.

  • Transfer the dough onto a sheet of parchment paper, press well with your hands trying to give it as precise a rectangular shape as possible, cover with another sheet of parchment paper, and roll out a thin sheet with a rolling pin, a few millimeters thick. If left thick, they will be hard and not crumbly as they should be.

  • Transfer the mixture to the oven tray, leaving the parchment paper underneath, and be very careful because the sheet is very thin and you risk breaking it. Sprinkle the dough with salt and cut it with a pastry cutter or a sharp knife, cutting into triangles or rectangles as you prefer.

  • Bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F for 20 minutes. When the homemade nachos are cooked and dry and crunchy, take the tray out of the oven and let cool.

  • If you prefer, instead of baking, you can fry them in hot oil.
