How to prepare the Christmas tree with puff pastry and speck
Let’s start preparing the Christmas tree with puff pastry and speck. Unroll the puff pastry and place it on a work surface, then neatly arrange all the speck slices on one sheet, as shown in the photo.
Cover the speck with the second puff pastry sheet and press the edges firmly. Use a sharp knife to cut out the shape of the tree and use the scraps to make stars; I used a cookie cutter for the stars. With the other leftovers, you can make some savory snacks.
Remove the excess puff pastry, leaving only the shape of the tree and the star. With a sharp knife, make 0.4-inch wide strips on both sides of the tree without cutting the central part. Twist each strip on itself. Place the star on the top. Now place the tree on a baking sheet using the baking paper underneath the tree.
Preheat the fan oven to 356°F, and when it’s hot, bake and cook for 15 minutes. The cooking time may vary depending on the type of oven, so always check; the Christmas tree with puff pastry and speck should be golden and puffed.
When it’s cooked, take it out of the oven and let it cool before serving.
How to store the Christmas tree with puff pastry and speck
The Christmas tree with puff pastry and speck can be stored at room temperature for 1 day, but the puff pastry will no longer be crispy.
