Ingredients
- 14 oz mixed ground meat
- 14 oz peas
- 1.7 oz stale bread
- 1 egg
- 1 oz parmesan (grated)
- Half clove garlic
- Half onion
- flour
- milk
- extra virgin olive oil
- salt
Preparation of Meatballs with Peas
Tear the stale bread into pieces, place it in a bowl, and soak it with some milk.
Let it rest for ten minutes.
In a large bowl, place the ground meat, the egg, the minced garlic, the grated parmesan, the well-squeezed stale bread, and a pinch of salt.
Mix until you obtain a well-blended mixture, then form meatballs.Place some flour on a plate and roll the prepared meatballs in it, covering all sides.
Chop the onion.
Heat a few tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in a large pan and let half of the chopped onion brown.
Add the meatballs and brown them on all sides.Add a glass of water, adjust the salt, bring to a boil, then cover the pan with a lid and lower the heat.
Let cook for twenty minutes, turning the meatballs occasionally.
Meanwhile, in another pan, heat more extra virgin olive oil and add the rest of the chopped onion.When it is golden, add the peas and cook until they are tender, then salt them and add them to the meatballs.
Stir to flavor and serve immediately, piping hot, your meatballs with peas.
