Oven-baked Pasta alla Pizzaiola

Ingredients

  • 1.1 lbs pasta
  • 28.2 oz tomato sauce
  • 10.6 oz mozzarella
  • 1 clove garlic
  • oregano
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt

Preparation of Oven-baked Pasta alla Pizzaiola

  • Peel the garlic clove.
    In a large pan or wok, heat a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
    Let the garlic brown, then add the tomato sauce and half a glass of water.

  • Adjust the salt, add a bit of oregano, stir and let it simmer on low heat for twenty-five minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Meanwhile, cook the pasta al dente in plenty of salted boiling water and cut the mozzarella into pieces.
    Drain the pasta and add it to the sauce in the pan, mixing thoroughly.

  • Also add three-quarters of the mozzarella off the heat, stirring to distribute it evenly, then transfer everything into a baking dish.
    Sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and a bit more oregano and place in a preheated ventilated oven at 340°F for fifteen minutes.
    Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, and serve your oven-baked Pasta alla Pizzaiola.
