Savory Broccoli and Sausage Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (round)
  • 21 oz broccoli
  • 9 oz sausage
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 oz pecorino (grated)
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt

Preparation of the Savory Broccoli and Sausage Pie

  • Clean the broccoli.
    Divide them into florets and wash them well under running water.
    Blanch them in salted boiling water for five minutes, then drain and set aside.
    Crumble the sausage and brown it well in a pan with a little extra virgin olive oil.

  • Add the broccoli florets and stir to flavor.
    Turn off the heat and let cool.
    Unroll the puff pastry and place it, with the baking paper it comes with, into a 9.5-inch diameter baking pan.
    Spread the broccoli and sausage mixture over it and sprinkle with grated pecorino.

  • In a small bowl, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt and the milk, and pour the mixture into the puff pastry.
    Fold the edges of the pastry inwards and bake in a preheated static oven at 392°F for fifteen to twenty minutes, until golden brown.
    Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve your savory broccoli and sausage pie.
