Ingredients

  • 1.1 lbs broccoli
  • 1.1 lbs mixed ground meat
  • 1 egg
  • 1.8 oz bread crumbs
  • 1.8 oz grana cheese (grated)
  • Half clove garlic (optional)
  • Half glass white wine
  • flour
  • milk
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt

Preparation of Meatballs and Broccoli in a Skillet

  • Clean the broccoli by removing the stem and separating the florets.
    Wash them well under running water and cook them for a few minutes in salted boiling water, then drain and set aside.
    Break up the bread crumbs and let them soak in a bowl with milk for about ten minutes.

  • Squeeze them out and gather them in a bowl.
    Add the ground meat, the egg, chopped garlic (if using), grated cheese, and a pinch of salt, and mix thoroughly.
    Form walnut-sized meatballs and coat them with flour, covering all sides.

  • Heat a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and brown the meatballs well on all sides over high heat.
    Deglaze with the white wine, and once the alcohol has evaporated, add the broccoli, cover with a lid, and lower the heat.
    Cook for about ten minutes.
    Serve your meatballs and broccoli in a skillet immediately, hot.
