Air Fryer Salmon and Potatoes Procedure

  • Peel the potatoes, wash them, and slice thinly. Place them in a bowl with cold water for 10 minutes to make them even crispier.
Drain them, dry thoroughly with a clean towel, and season with 1 tablespoon of oil, salt, and pepper. If you like, add a garlic clove.

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season with salt, pepper, a drizzle of oil, and herbs to taste.

Place salmon and potatoes in the air fryer basket, avoiding overlapping. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for about 18-20 minutes. Halfway through, open and check: you can flip the potatoes to brown them better.
If by the end of cooking the potatoes aren’t golden enough (depending on thickness), remove the salmon fillets and continue cooking the potatoes for 3-5 minutes only.
    Plate and serve immediately!

Storage

You can store salmon and potatoes in the fridge for up to 1 day, sealed in an airtight container. I recommend reheating them in the air fryer for a few minutes to regain their original crispiness.

Tips

You can use frozen salmon, just let it thaw completely beforehand.
• If you prefer, you can use baby potatoes with the skin: just wash them well.
• A great variation: add thinly sliced zucchini or carrots along with the potatoes for a mix of veggies.
• For an extra touch, season the salmon with a lemon and parsley marinade before cooking!

FAQ

  • Can I use smoked salmon?

No, this recipe requires fresh (or thawed) salmon to be cooked. Smoked salmon is ready to eat and not suitable for air frying.

  • How long does it take to cook just potatoes in the air fryer?

It depends on the size of the pieces: on average, 20 minutes at 400°F (200°C), flipping halfway through.

  • Should the salmon be cooked with the skin on?

Yes, the skin helps keep the fillet firm and juicy. You can remove it after cooking if you don’t like it.
