Creamy Nutella Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp baking powder (one teaspoon)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup coffee (regular or decaffeinated for children)
  • Nutella
  • milk
  • powdered sugar (for decoration)

Preparation of creamy Nutella cookies

  • In a large bowl, pour the flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, sugar, and baking powder and mix thoroughly.
    Add the softened butter in pieces and knead until you get a crumbly mixture.
    Add the egg, knead to absorb it, and also add a cup of coffee.
    Knead until you get a smooth and homogeneous mixture.
    Form a block, wrap it in some cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for half an hour.

  • After the resting time, divide the dough into two parts and obtain a rectangle about twelve inches long and four inches high from each of them.
    Create a layer of Nutella in the center of each rectangle and close the dough over the filling to form a baguette, sealing the edges well.
    Gently move the two baguettes obtained on a tray and put them in the freezer for an hour.

  • At the end of the hour, preheat the oven to 390°F in fan mode.
    Place the baguettes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the surface with some milk.
    Bake them for twelve minutes in the preheated oven.
    Remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly before cutting them into pieces with a smooth-bladed knife, gently because they will still be very soft, then let your creamy Nutella cookies cool completely as they will gain more consistency.
    Before serving, sprinkle them with plenty of powdered sugar.
