Ingredients

  • 2 rolls puff pastry (fresh, round)
  • 3.5 oz mortadella (thinly sliced)
  • 3.5 oz scamorza
  • 3.5 oz tomato sauce
  • sesame seeds
  • milk
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt

Preparation of Rustic Pizza with Mortadella and Tomato

  • Preheat the fan oven to 392°F.
    Season the tomato sauce with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a pinch of salt.
    Cut the scamorza into small pieces.

  • Unroll one sheet of puff pastry, leaving it on the parchment paper it comes with, and place it on a baking sheet or a large pan.
    Spread the seasoned tomato sauce over the pastry, keeping about an inch away from the edges.
    Cover the sauce with slices of mortadella. Sprinkle with pieces of scamorza.

  • Unroll the other puff pastry sheet, place it over the first, matching the edges, then seal them by pressing with the prongs of a fork.
    Pierce the surface of the pastry with the same fork and brush it with some milk.
    Sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake for eighteen minutes, until golden.
    Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, and serve your rustic pizza with mortadella and tomato.
