Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cups sugar
- 6 tbsp butter
- 1 packet vanillin
- 1 egg
- colored eggs
Preparation of Easter Bunnies
In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and vanillin.
Add the butter cut into chunks and knead with your fingers until a crumbly mixture is obtained, then add the egg and continue kneading until you get a smooth and homogeneous dough.
Form a dough ball and wrap it with plastic wrap before letting it rest in the refrigerator for at least half an hour. After the resting time, take the dough ball (1) and break off a piece the size of a walnut (2).
On a floured work surface, create dough ropes about 8 inches long (3).
Fold them in half (4), cross one end over the other (5), and wrap it once more (6).
Place the cookies thus made on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (7).
Bake them in a preheated oven at 350°F in static mode for ten minutes, until lightly golden.
Remove from oven and immediately place a small egg in the hollow created, while still warm, then let them cool completely on a wire rack (8).
Store your Easter bunnies under a cake dome or in an airtight container.
