Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cups sugar
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1 packet vanillin
  • 1 egg
  • colored eggs

Preparation of Easter Bunnies

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and vanillin.
    Add the butter cut into chunks and knead with your fingers until a crumbly mixture is obtained, then add the egg and continue kneading until you get a smooth and homogeneous dough.
    Form a dough ball and wrap it with plastic wrap before letting it rest in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.

  • After the resting time, take the dough ball (1) and break off a piece the size of a walnut (2).
    On a floured work surface, create dough ropes about 8 inches long (3).

  • Fold them in half (4), cross one end over the other (5), and wrap it once more (6).

  • Place the cookies thus made on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (7).
    Bake them in a preheated oven at 350°F in static mode for ten minutes, until lightly golden.
    Remove from oven and immediately place a small egg in the hollow created, while still warm, then let them cool completely on a wire rack (8).
    Store your Easter bunnies under a cake dome or in an airtight container.
