Ingredients
- 2.2 lbs potatoes
- 1 cup milk
- 3.5 tbsp butter
- nutmeg
- salt
Preparation of Mashed Potatoes
Wash the potatoes thoroughly, place them in a pot, and cover them with cold water.
Bring the pot to the stove and let them cook for forty minutes from the boiling point.
Drain the potatoes and peel them while they are still hot.Heat the milk.
Pass the potatoes through a potato ricer or a food mill and collect the puree in a saucepan.Gradually add the warm milk, stirring with a whisk, and cook your mashed potatoes on very low heat for a few minutes, until soft.
Add the butter in pieces, salt, and a grating of nutmeg, stirring thoroughly and quickly to obtain a homogeneous mixture.
Serve immediately, very hot.
