- 1/2 cup oz butter
- 1/2 cup oz sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 packet vanillin
- 1 cup oz bitter orange marmalade
Preparation of the Tart with Bitter Orange Marmalade
In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and vanillin.
Add softened butter cut into pieces and knead until you obtain a sandy mixture.
Add the egg and knead firmly until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous dough.
Form a dough ball, wrap it in some plastic wrap, and let it rest in the refrigerator for an hour. After the resting time, set aside a quarter of the dough and roll out the rest into a disc large enough to line a 9.5-inch tart pan slightly buttered.
Place the base in the pan and prick the bottom with a fork.In a small bowl, thin the marmalade with two tablespoons of water, mix thoroughly and pour it onto the prepared pastry base.
With the reserved dough, prepare strips to arrange in a lattice pattern over the marmalade.
Bake in a preheated fan oven at 350°F for about forty minutes, until golden brown.
Remove from oven, let cool, and serve your tart with bitter orange marmalade.
