Chocolate pudding is the classic traditional spoon dessert, grandma’s snack par excellence.

Made with simple ingredients, it is also a perfect dessert at the end of any meal, but usually requires a long resting time in the refrigerator. The following recipe, however, without butter and with simple ingredients, can be prepared in a few minutes, and has a resting time of just half an hour, making this dessert perfect for last-minute preparation, for unexpected guests, spontaneous dinners, or to satisfy a sudden craving for something sweet in a healthy, tasty, and genuine way.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch (or potato starch)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Preparation of Chocolate Pudding

  • Put the milk in a small pot and heat it.
    In another pot, away from the heat, put the sugar, cornstarch, and unsweetened cocoa powder and mix them with a whisk.

  • Gradually add the hot milk, continuously stirring with the whisk, until you have a smooth and lump-free mixture. Place the pot on the stove, over low heat, continuing to stir until it thickens.

  • Immediately pour the cream into four small glasses or cups.
    Cover each glass or cup with a bit of aluminum foil or plastic wrap and put them in the refrigerator for at least half an hour before serving your chocolate pudding.
