Ingredients
- 1 orange (Washington or Navel)
- 1 pink grapefruit
- 1 avocado
- 2 tablespoons sunflower seeds
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 pinches fine salt
- to taste mixed peppercorns
Tools
- 1 Cutting board
- 1 Knife
Preparation of Orange, Grapefruit, and Avocado Salad
Peel a pink grapefruit and a Washington or Navel orange, making sure they are sweet.
Then slice the 2 citrus fruits into thin slices about 1/4 inch thick, no more.
Now take an avocado that is ripe enough but not too soft. Remove the pit and slice it thinly. Again, no more than 1/4 inch thick.
Once you have cleaned and sliced all the fruit, start assembling your salad on serving plates.
Start by making a layer of citrus, alternating orange and pink grapefruit randomly.
Then place the avocado slices on top of the citrus and finally sprinkle with sunflower seeds.
Then season each plate with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, a pinch of fine salt, and a dash of fresh mixed pepper.
And voilà… now the orange, grapefruit, and avocado salad is ready to be served to your guests.
If you like, you can also add yellow grapefruit, always sliced thinly. If you don’t like pink/yellow grapefruit, replace it with a blood orange.
You can replace sunflower seeds with black sesame seeds.
