  • 2 bananas
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp whole milk

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp baking powder

Tools

  • Loaf pan
  • Hand whisk
  • Wooden spoon

Steps to make the cocoa banana bread without butter

  • To prepare the cocoa banana bread without butter, first, take a large bowl and mash the bananas with a fork after peeling them. Then add the 2 eggs, the liquids, i.e., whole milk and corn oil, then add the all-purpose flour and the baking powder, the sugar, and mix with a hand whisk, finally add the unsweetened cocoa and a pinch of salt. Lastly, add the chocolate chips and mix everything well with a wooden spoon. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. If you prefer, you can also do everything with a stand mixer for convenience.

  • Now oil and flour a 10 x 4-inch loaf pan. Pour all the mixture in and bake. Cook everything for about 60 minutes. To ensure the cake is cooked, always do the toothpick test. Try inserting a toothpick in the center of the cake and check if it is cooked. If it’s still damp, continue cooking; if dry, the cake is baked.

  • Take out your cocoa banana bread without butter from the oven and let it cool before removing it from the mold, then serve it.

Storage and Tips

You can store the banana bread at room temperature under a glass dome or in an airtight container.

You can omit the chocolate chips and only add the cocoa. Or add the chips and leave out the cocoa.

If you want to add even more flavor, you can add cinnamon powder or nuts.
