Steps to make pasta with saffron
To prepare pasta with saffron and cream cheese, first, take a pot with water and salt and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, add the pasta and cook it according to the package instructions. Towards the end of the pasta cooking time, in a large frying pan, sauté the yellow onion with some extra virgin olive oil, add the chopped speck (or alternatively, you can use pre-sliced sticks or cubes) and let it cook for a couple of minutes. Now add a ladle of the pasta cooking water, the Philadelphia, and the saffron, and mix well so that the cream becomes nice and smooth.
Now drain the pasta and transfer it directly into the pan with the cream of Philadelphia and saffron, mix well with the help of a wooden spoon and add a handful of grated Parmesan cheese, a sprinkle of black pepper, and serve hot!
