Ingredients
- 1 roll puff pastry
- 7 oz cheese (type galbanino)
- 5 oz speck
- to taste sesame seeds (mixed)
- 1 egg (to brush the surface)
How to make cheese strudel
Unroll the puff pastry on the work surface with its paper. Lay the slices of speck on the puff pastry.
Then lay the cheese on top.
Make horizontal cuts relative to the position of the cheese, then start closing the bottom and top parts and continue closing each strip over the chocolate from top to bottom, creating the braid as you see in the picture.
Brush with the beaten egg and decorate with sesame seeds, finally bake in the oven at 350°F for about 25 minutes or until golden.
Storage and variations of the cheese strudel
The cheese strudel can be stored in the refrigerator well covered with plastic wrap. If you don’t like speck, you can replace it with bacon or cooked ham.
