The preparation is very simple and quick; in no time, you will have a delicious and tasty dessert. This recipe does not require separating the yolk from the white, although other recipes call for whipped egg whites. There are various versions, with or without raisins and rum. - 3 eggs (medium)
- 3.5 tbsp whole milk
- 0.4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp raisins
- 1.5 tbsp rum
- 1.5 tbsp butter

- 0.2 oz vanillin

Steps to Make Kaiserschmarren or Sweet Pancake
To prepare Kaiserschmarren or sweet pancake, first put the raisins with rum in a small bowl and let them soak for 10 minutes. Take a large bowl and break the whole eggs into it, add the sugar, and start whisking with an electric mixer until you get a frothy mixture. Add the all-purpose flour, vanillin, whole milk, and continue mixing with the whisk.
The batter is now ready. Take a 9.5-inch non-stick pan, heat the butter, and when it has melted, pour the batter in. Cover with a lid and cook for a couple of minutes over medium heat until the bottom is golden. Then sprinkle the surface with the raisins that you have well-drained from the rum. Press them lightly with your hands. Take a spatula and cut the pancake in half and flip it over, cook for a couple of minutes then cut it into pieces again with the spatula. Finally, sprinkle the pancake with some sugar and mix well.
Your sweet pancake is ready to enjoy! Place the pieces of pancake on a serving plate, and in the center, if you want, place a small bowl with berry jam, then sprinkle with powdered sugar. Really easy and delicious!
Storage and Tips
It is recommended to consume the pancake immediately.
If you do not like rum or raisins, you can omit them from the recipe; it will be delicious even without.
