Kamut Bread Monsieur Cousine

The kamut bread is made with Khorasan flour. It’s a flour rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, and full of vitamins. It’s more digestible compared to other flours but has a higher protein content.
Kamut is also not recommended in the diet of people with celiac disease and those intolerant to gluten.
I always make bread and pizza with my food processor Monsieur Cousine Connect, very intuitive and convenient. In 5 minutes I can make a great dough for homemade bread and pizza.
If you have it at home and want to try some recipes, I recommend bread with 00 flour, with olives or wholemeal with chia seeds.

Ingredients for Kamut Bread

  • 4 cups Kamut® flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 packet dry yeast

Tools

  • 1 Baking tray
  • Food processor Monsieur cuisine connect or plus

Steps to Prepare Kamut Bread

  • To prepare Kamut bread, start by placing water and yeast in the bowl for 2 minutes at speed 2 at 98 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Then add the sifted Kamut flour, then add 2 teaspoons of fine salt, 2 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil, and use the Kneading function for 2 minutes. The dough should look like the one shown in the photo.

  • Take the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it by hand for 5 minutes. It should be smooth and uniform. Then place the dough in a floured bowl for 4 hours.

  • Shape your bread as you prefer; you can make one large loaf or several small ones and decorate them as you like. I made a classic cross and prepared 4 rolls. Place them on parchment paper.

  • Preheat the static oven to 482 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the bread for 20 minutes. The bread will turn golden, crispy on the outside, and soft inside.
