Sweet Jova Eggs: My Original Recipe

The sweet Jova eggs originated as a variant of the savory recipe that went viral on social media. Many of you asked me for a sweet recipe, so here’s my delicious version!
Do not confuse them with cloud bread: here, there is yolk, and no corn starch is used. The result is soft but richer and more flavorful.
Instead of salt and pepper, I used powdered sugar and cinnamon, then added pieces of milk chocolate mixed with the egg white. I cooked them in the air fryer, but if you don’t have one, you can bake them in a regular oven.
A simple and unique sweet recipe, perfect for breakfast, a snack, or whenever you crave something different.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 1.76 oz milk chocolate (in pieces)

Tools

  • 1 Electric whisk
  • 1 Air fryer

Preparation

  • Start by separating the yolks from the egg whites, using two different bowls.
Whisk the egg whites until they form stiff peaks: they should be firm and not fall if you invert the bowl.
In another bowl, mix the yolks with the powdered sugar and a pinch of cinnamon.
Chop the milk chocolate into small pieces and gently add it to the whipped egg whites, stirring from bottom to top to preserve the fluffiness.

  • Using a kitchen brush, draw two circles on the parchment paper with a bit of yolk: these will be the base for our sweet eggs.
With the help of two spoons, place the whipped egg whites over the circles and shape two compact mounds.
Brush the mounds with the remaining yolk, using the brush.
Cook in the air fryer at 320°F for 8 minutes, or in a preheated static oven at 356°F, also for 8 minutes.

NOTES

For this recipe, you can use your preferred chocolate: milk, dark, or even white, just be sure to chop it into small pieces. If you want a more intense flavor, you can add a pinch of vanilla. Sweet Jova eggs should be enjoyed as soon as they’re made, when the inside is still soft and the chocolate slightly melted. If baking in an oven, always check they don’t brown too much on the surface: every oven is different. You can serve them with a bit of powdered sugar on top.
