Hazelnut Cream

Homemade hazelnut cream is a delicious temptation that captures the senses with its velvety texture and intense flavor. Spread on a slice of toasted bread or used as a filling for pastries, it delivers an explosion of pleasure in every bite.

The hazelnut cream made with few high-quality ingredients will win you over; the hazelnuts are toasted and then blended with hot milk until a creamy consistency is achieved. The addition of excellent dark and white chocolate completes the work, and nothing can match the authentic flavor of homemade hazelnut cream.

I blended the hazelnuts well but left them slightly granular for a very particular texture, but if you want it completely velvety like the industrial version, just blend the hazelnuts with the milk using a blender and keep blending until they are smooth before adding the other ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 5.3 oz toasted hazelnuts
  • 1 cup milk
  • 6.2 oz dark chocolate
  • 1.8 oz white chocolate
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Important for blending hazelnuts with milk is a food processor or blender, to make everything smoother I use an immersion blender.

Preparation

Preparing the hazelnut cream takes just a few minutes and simple steps as you can see in the video above.

  • Prepare the ingredients needed to make the hazelnut cream then heat the milk well in the microwave.

    Pour the hazelnuts into the blender and blend them with the hot milk to the desired consistency, and in any case, no less than two minutes. The more you blend them, the smoother the cream will be.

    Meanwhile, melt all the chocolate in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring the chocolate with the tip of a knife at each interval, continue until you get a nice smooth chocolate cream.

    Pour the blended hazelnuts into a large bowl, add all the melted chocolate and mix well with the whisk. When everything is homogeneous, add all the powdered sugar, always mixing with the whisk, and only after the sugar is absorbed, add the vegetable oil, and your hazelnut cream is ready. To make it more homogeneous and fluid, you can blend it again with an immersion blender.

    Pour the hazelnut cream into glass jars, close them with the lid, and let them rest in the refrigerator for at least two hours before you can enjoy your hazelnut cream as is or as a filling for desserts.

NOTES

After the resting time, you can keep your hazelnut cream in the pantry to have a soft cream by the spoonful. I prefer to keep it in the fridge because I like it more compact, and in the summer, it is truly a delicious, fresh, and rich dessert.

You can consume your hazelnut cream as you would use any spreadable cream you purchase.
