CHERRY STRUDEL

in ,

The cherry strudel is a delicious rustic summer dessert, consisting of a flaky and crunchy shell that encloses a rich filling of cherries and cookies.

Once again I recommend trying the recipe and, as always, I look forward to your feedback on my Instagram profile @isaporidicasa.

  • Prepare the strudel dough: in a bowl, mix the flour with the butter in pieces, salt, sugar, egg, and lukewarm water

  • Pit the cherries and set aside. Roll out the dough on a floured sheet of parchment paper

Form a large rectangle a few millimeters thick

  • Brush the surface with melted butter

  • Distribute the crumbled cookies, taking care to leave the edges free

  • Add the cherries on top and sprinkle with brown sugar and, if you like, you can add a pinch of cinnamon.

  • Roll the strudel tightly on itself, using the parchment paper, and seal the edges well.

  • Place the strudel on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and brush with beaten egg

  • Make diagonal cuts along the entire surface

  • Sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake in a preheated oven at 355°F for 30 minutes.
