Seasoned orange, a good alternative to consume this precious fruit rich in fiber and vitamin C, which remains intact if consumed without cooking.

Seasoned orange can be considered a side dish, a dessert, or even a great appetizer. Personally, when I don’t feel like cooking but want a flavorful dish, I prepare seasoned orange.

The preparation takes just a few minutes and the result will surprise any guests. Its dressing made from orange juice and oil creates a sauce with which you can make excellent ‘scarpetta’.
For a quick meal rich in energy and flavor, seasoned orange accompanied by good fresh bread is a great proposal. Its unique taste, which combines the natural sweetness of the fruit with salt and pepper, is truly unique and very pleasant to the palate.

Preparation

The preparation of seasoned orange takes a few minutes and no cooking

  • Seasoned orange with its sauce allows you to make an excellent ‘scarpetta’ and brightens your meals and your appetizers.

  • Wash the oranges well and slice one and a half into slices about 1/8 inch thick, arrange the slices obtained on flat serving plates.

  • In a container, combine the juice of the remaining 1/2 orange, the tablespoon of oil, salt, and pepper and mix well with a fork or mixer.
    Pour this sauce over the orange slices and serve with excellent fresh bread.

NOTES

Seasoned orange requires just a few minutes for preparation, so I recommend preparing it at the last minute, but if you have leftovers, you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 1 day, well covered with plastic wrap. I propose seasoned orange very simply because for me it is perfect this way, but you can also serve it with black olives and pieces of celery.
