Millefeuille with Mascarpone Cream and Berries

Ingredients

  • 1 roll puff pastry (rectangular)
  • as needed powdered sugar
  • 7 oz berries
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 4 oz mascarpone
  • 1.4 oz sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Steps

  • To make the millefeuille with mascarpone cream and berries, dust the surface of the puff pastry with powdered sugar.

  • Prick the puff pastry with a fork and bake it in a preheated oven at 356°F until golden, for about 15/20 minutes. Once cooked, remove from the oven and let it cool down.

  • In a small pot, pour the berries and sugar. Place over low heat, add the water, and stir occasionally until the mixture starts to boil. Let it cook for about 10 minutes or until it starts to thicken.

  • Prepare the cream using an electric mixer: whip the cream with the sugar, then add the mascarpone. Mix to obtain a creamy and homogeneous mixture. Transfer the cream into a piping bag.

  • Cut the puff pastry into 12 rectangles and dust them with powdered sugar.

  • Proceed to assemble the millefeuille: on a rectangle of puff pastry, create a layer of cream and pour a tablespoon of berries; then lay another rectangle of puff pastry and create another layer of cream and pour a tablespoon of berries; finish with a rectangle of puff pastry.

  • Store in the fridge and serve when ready. Enjoy!
