Savory Tart with Grilled Zucchini, Tomato, and Cheese

The savory tart with grilled zucchini, tomato, and cheese is a rich and tasty rustic pie, whose flavor greatly resembles zucchini parmigiana. To make this recipe, I used puff pastry, which I filled with layers of grilled zucchini alternated with tomato puree, cheese slices, and mozzarella. You can enjoy this savory tart either warm or cold, making it suitable for eating out, at the office, or during a picnic. With its irresistible taste, this savory tart will win everyone over!

Savory Tart with Grilled Zucchini, Tomato, and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 roll puff pastry
  • 1.1 lbs zucchini
  • 4 cheese slices
  • 1.8 oz mozzarella
  • 7 oz tomato puree
  • to taste basil
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste salt

  • Baking Tin

Steps

  • To make the savory tart with grilled zucchini, wash and trim the zucchini. Cut them into thin slices lengthwise. Heat the griddle and grill them on both sides.

  • In a pan, pour a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, the tomato puree, and a few basil leaves. Place on low heat and warm the sauce. Salt at the end of cooking.

  • Take a round baking tin and place the puff pastry, keeping the provided parchment paper.

  • Pour a few tablespoons of tomato puree on the base of the puff pastry, distributing it with the back of a spoon over the entire base.

  • Then form a layer of grilled zucchini and season them with a few tablespoons of tomato puree.

  • Next, form a layer with the cheese slices and then another layer of grilled zucchini.

  • Season the zucchini with the remaining tomato puree and the mozzarella cut into cubes.

  • Fold the edges of the puff pastry inward and place in the oven preheated to 392°F. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

  • Serve the savory tart warm and enjoy!
